Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Kavita Rajput was constantly surrounded by color and patterns, be it in the form of rangoli, henna or the vibrant sets and fabrics in Bollywood movies. An only child, she often took to sketching and painting during long summer afternoons. A graduate of the London Business School, Kavita worked in finance for almost a decade till an after-work watercolor class at the New York Academy of Art took her back to her childhood passion. Kavita loves creating heartwarming visual stories, drawing inspiration from her native India and experience living in big cities around the world. She currently lives in New York City with her husband, two sons and dog. A trained vocalist, she loves singing and dancing to Bollywood songs, watching movies and taking long walks in Central Park.
