Kathryn Thurman is a writer and fine artist. She has a degree in art from the University of Puget Sound. Her first picture book, A Garden for Pig, was published by Kane/Miller and was featured on Smithsonian’s website as one of the top ten children’s books about food. The story was inspired by a real pig who grew a squash garden. Just like her character, Kathryn is crazy for squash. Any kind will do! Her second picture book, The Biggest Thing of All, will be published by Trigger Publishing in 2021. She and her husband and their two fantastic kids migrate between a small island in the Salish Sea and the Coachella Valley in Southern California. When she’s not writing or painting, she’s growing all kinds of vegetables and hanging out with her family and their pug who wears wheels.
