Ashley Spires’s Fairy Science is one of three titles shortlisted for the 2020 Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children’s Book Awards in the Children’s Picture Book category. This award recognizes artistic excellence in English-language Canadian children’s literature. Chosen by student juries the winners will be announced later this month. Congrats Ashley!

Ashley Spires’s Fairy Science has been shortlisted for the BC Chocolate Lily Young Readers’ Choice Awards for 2020-2021 in the picture books for ages kindergarten to 4th grade category. The award celebrates children’s authors and illustrators living in British Columbia and while congratulating these talented authors and illustrators, it also tries to encourage literacy for grade school children in British Columbia. This non-profit reader’s choice award will be read and voted upon by these children and the results of the winners will be announced next year around this time.
