Just Like Mama (Simon & Schuster) by Alice Faye Duncan, illustrated by Charnelle Pinkney Barlow and The Secret Garden of George Washington Carver (HarperCollins) by Gene Barretta, illustrated by Frank Morrison have been nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Children’s Literary Work. The awards will be announced on March 27, 2021.
